Korean Toner Pads vs Toners vs Essences: 9 Amazon US Options

Toner pads and essences are two of the most Korean parts of a Korean skincare routine, and both are easy to find on Amazon US now. The hard part is that search results mix brand stores with resellers. For this list we opened every Amazon page ourselves on October 14, 2026, with a US delivery address, and kept only listings that were in stock and whose seller line showed the brand's name, or Amazon.com under the brand's store, on that date. We rechecked on October 22, 2026 and note any seller changes below.

We describe what each product is, how big it is and where it goes in a routine. We don't list prices, because they change too often, and we don't promise results. Check the ingredient list against your own skin.

Toner pad, toner or essence?

A toner is the watery step right after cleansing. You pat it in with your hands or wipe it on with a cotton pad. A toner pad is the same idea, done for you: a jar of cotton pads already soaked in a toner-like liquid.

You lift one out with the tweezers that usually come in the lid, wipe it over your face and throw it away. Pads are handy when you're in a hurry or traveling, and many people use them as a quick mask by leaving a pad on one area for a few minutes.

An essence sits one step later. It is usually a little thicker than a toner and thinner than a serum, and it goes on after toner and before serum or cream. In practice the lines are blurry. Some products, like Beauty of Joseon's Ginseng Essence Water, call themselves both. Don't worry about the labels; the order that matters is thin to thick.

Four toner pads

Anua Heartleaf 77 Toner Pads are the pad version of Anua's best-known toner. The jar holds 70 pads soaked in a formula that the listing says contains 77% heartleaf water, plus PHA and centella asiatica. Each pad is about 7 cm across, with one embossed side and one smooth side. On October 14 the seller line showed Anua; on October 22 it showed a third party, BasicT, so confirm the seller before buying.

Torriden DIVE-IN Multi Pad comes from the same line as Torriden's popular hyaluronic acid serum. There are 80 soft cotton pads per jar, soaked in the DIVE-IN formula with five types of hyaluronic acid, panthenol and allantoin. The listing describes them as cooling on contact and suggests using them as a spot mask too. It is sold by Torriden.

MEDIHEAL Watermide Moisture Pad is from the brand best known in the US for sheet masks. This jar has 100 pads with a gel texture, and the listing names forget-me-not flower, Icelandic glacial water and squalane in the formula. It is sold by Mediheal Cos under the MEDIHEAL brand store.

SKIN1004 Centella Quick Calming Pad belongs to SKIN1004's Madagascar Centella line, the same family as its well-known ampoule. The jar has 70 cushiony triple-layer pads with centella asiatica extract, panthenol and sodium hyaluronate on SKIN1004's ingredient list. It is listed as sold by SKIN1004 NA.

Five toners and essences

COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is probably the most famous essence on this list. The 100 ml bottle is sold by COSRX, and snail secretion filtrate makes up 96.3% of the formula. The texture is light and a little stretchy. COSRX says to use it after cleansing and toning.

Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water is a thin, watery toner-essence in a 150 ml bottle. On October 14 the seller line showed BEAUTY OF JOSEON OFFICIAL; on October 22 the only offer we could see was from a third-party seller, so confirm the seller before buying. The current brand page names ginseng root water and niacinamide. Check the ingredient list on the exact bottle you buy; formulas can change.

Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner is the toner behind the pads above. The 250 ml bottle is sold by Anua, and Anua's official page lists 77% heartleaf extract with hyaluronic acid and centella, purslane and chamomile extracts. It is a watery toner you can use morning and night.

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner is a light, water-type toner in a 200 ml bottle, listed as sold by ROUNDLAB OFFICIAL. The name refers to Dokdo, the Korean islets in the East Sea, and the listing names deep sea water in the formula.

LANEIGE Cream Skin is the odd one out: a milky toner and moisturizer in one, in a 170 ml refillable bottle. It is sold and shipped by Amazon.com under the LANEIGE brand store, and the listing names a ceramide and peptide complex and white leaf tea.

How to choose and how to use

Pick the format first. If you like a fast routine, a jar of pads is the simplest. If you prefer to control how much you use, choose a bottle. Then read the ingredient list on the Amazon page or the brand's site, especially if your skin reacts easily to fragrance or acids such as BHA or PHA. When you try something new, test it on a small area first and add one new product at a time.
