Who is LANEIGE? The Korean brand behind the Lip Sleeping Mask

Many people know LANEIGE for one small pot, the Lip Sleeping Mask, without knowing much about the brand behind it. Here is a short guide: who owns LANEIGE, what it focuses on, which brands it is related to, and four of its products that are on Amazon US. Facts about the company come from Amorepacific's official brand pages and LANEIGE's own US site.

Part of Amorepacific

LANEIGE belongs to Amorepacific, the Korean beauty company whose official site dates it back to 1945. On LANEIGE's US site, the copyright line names Amorepacific US as the company behind it. LANEIGE says it has been researching and testing skincare in its labs in Korea since the 1990s.

That makes LANEIGE a sister brand to a lot of names you may already know. Amorepacific's official brand list also includes Sulwhasoo, innisfree, HERA, IOPE, Hanyul, espoir, ETUDE, Primera, Mamonde, AESTURA, ILLIYOON and COSRX, along with tea brand OSULLOC. So if you have a COSRX snail essence and a LANEIGE lip mask on your shelf, they come from the same company.

Water and sleep

LANEIGE describes its research around two themes: what it calls Water Science, meaning how skin holds moisture, and Sleep Care, meaning what happens to skin overnight. You can see both in its product names. The Water Bank line is built around hyaluronic acid, and the sleeping masks are made to be the last step of an evening routine.

The brand's current slogan is "Open to Wonder." On Amorepacific's LANEIGE page, the brand explains the idea with a list of "what if" questions: what if a jar of cream were melted into a toner, what if a lip balm were combined with a sleeping mask, and what if hyaluronic acid were broken down to go deeper into skin.

Those questions line up with some of its best-known products. LANEIGE also says on its US site that it invented the first cream toner, which is the product now sold as Cream Skin.

Four LANEIGE products on Amazon US

We checked each of these listings ourselves with a US delivery address. All four are sold by Amazon.com under the LANEIGE brand store.

Lip Sleeping Mask is the overnight lip mask in a small pot that most people know LANEIGE for. Our pick is the Berry flavor, 20 g. You apply a thick layer before bed.

Lip Glowy Balm is the daytime cousin: a sheer tinted lip balm in a pocket-size tube, with murumuru and shea butters named on the listing. Our pick is the Berry shade.

Cream Skin is the cream toner mentioned above, a milky toner and moisturizer in one, in a 170 ml refillable bottle. The listing names a ceramide and peptide complex and white leaf tea.

Cica Sleeping Mask is a fragrance-free balm-cream overnight mask with centella asiatica. It goes on as the last step at night and comes off in the morning; check your jar for how often, since LANEIGE's pages give different frequencies.

New from LANEIGE in Korea

This fall LANEIGE released a limited collection with the Seoul fashion label MATIN KIM, called "YOUR SKIN'S DRESS CODE." It started rolling out globally on September 1, 2026, and reached Korea in October. The star is the JuicePop Box Lip Tint Mono Tune, a tint that reacts to the pH of your lips, so the color comes out slightly different on each person.
